
Efficient Solar Energy Production and Storage System for the Great Los Angeles Area
I conducted an optimal design of a solar panel system which achieved 30% reward-investment ratio increase and 28% size reduction compared to the original prototype
• Analyzed costumer requirements (cost, safety, durability, etc.) to determine types of solar panels and the batteries
• Improved solar panel holder and folder designs by applying I-beams to the support parts to improve the stability
• Optimized the combination of design parameters (dimension, material, battery parameters, beam parameters, etc.) with Gradient-based and Heuristic algorithm in MATLAB for minimum cost and minimum weight
• Achieved 30% reward-investment ratio increase and 28% size reduction compared to the original prototype
